42nd Street to 14th Street

September 11, 2005

This modern-looking glass structure is nearly completed just south of 42nd Street.

A nostalgic look at the site where towed cars are taken; I have bailed my car out of this site a time or two during my car-owning days.

The Hudson-facing Western side of the Javitz Center.

This vast open area was fought over the past months as a potential site for a new football stadium for the Jets. Since that plan fell through some other plan must take its place.

There is a stretch of heliports on the Hudson.

Another view looking North and East at the open space where the Jets will not have a stadium.

This pier looks rather unplanned. Note the boat at the right labeled Frying Pan.

This space is just north of the Chelsea Piers.

Inside the Chelsea Piers (a huge sports venue from 23rd Street to 16th Street where you can (for a fee) shoot golf balls, bowl, play basketball, soccer, hockey, skating... See HERE. This view is of the net holding in the golf balls hit from the three levels of golfers.
